It was in a woody thicket with a lot of pine trees. The Mushroom was growing next to a dried up river bed. It was a very humid day and it was constantly drizzling (it’s the rain season in Mexico). Found this growing in a mulch like environment. The Mushroom had no peculiar scent. The area was at around 3,400m above sea level.
