Observation 49241: Connopus acervatus (Fr.) K.W. Hughes, Mather & R.H. Petersen

When: 2006-10-27

Seen at: Oakland Museum, Oakland, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Debbie Viess (amanitarita)

No specimen available

Collected in Humboldt CO and brought to the Bioforum by Dr. Terry Henkel(Humboldt State University).

Curiously enough, Mycena haematopus was proposed as an ID for this mushroom cluster at the time, despite the lack of latex. So those ID errors can swing both ways! See this MO sighting for a Mycena haematopus misidentified as Connatus (Gymnopus) acervatus:

Do I sense a trend? ;)
