Just going by the soft rot and large area attributes. Saw several web pictures that looked alike, but going out on a limb here. Found this on a conifer, not sure what kind.

Very nice ID! To be certain, a few seconds observing it in Melzer’s reagent would show you whether or not the spores (and sometimes skeletal hyphae) are dextrinoid (red). Then it would be Perenniporia for sure.
