Hygrocybe (small orange cone) growing in pine duff in Zone 36, at a junction of paths. There were two of them. The larger one (pictured) shows what may be some blackened spots, so this could be H. conica.

“Add Comment” seems to do the job — albeit with side effects. When I came back from posting the first comment the votes had been updated to show 2 votes for the new proposal. Hmm.
