Found in Zone 48. Indisputably an Amanita but all three of A. amerimuscaria, A. flavoconia, and A. frostiana vie for my attention. The warts looked whitish in person, but look yellower in the photo. Which is the truer color? White points to A. amerimuscaria and yellow to the other two. The size and stature were somewhat large for A. flavoconia and small for A. amerimuscaria, favoring A. frostiana. The whitish stipe conflicts somewhat with A. flavoconia, too, but doesn’t rule it right out.

Lots of photos here of whole mushroom, stipe, and gills.

Cap from directly overhead; gives clearest details of the warts.
