This is an example of common usage for a century bumpimg S. spraguei. But I am not sure of this.

Um, where did my name go?

Ok, so what happened here, now we have Suillus pictus back again? When did this become the accepted name? I thought that Suillus spraguei was the accepted name here. But now this one is accepted, is there are reason for this?

Also when I go to Index Fungorum, they seem to say there isn’t any S. spraguei, that name isn’t listed there at all, not just as a synonym of S. pictus.

What happened to S. spraguei?
