Observation 51834: Boletus L.

When: 2009-07-02

Collection location: Blacksburg, Virginia, USA [Click for map]

Who: Mark Prosser (mark prosser)

No specimen available

An interesting, but aged specimen of a type of Boletus, found near a rhododendron thicket in an Oak-Hickory/conifer forest. The best indication of the original pore surface color is seen in the extreme bottom right area of the second picture, appearing to have been a dull white.
