I think S.spraguei was the earlier name and thus has priority Except that S. pictus has fallen into common usage for many years. Similar situation with Pluteus cervinus and Pluteus atricapillus. Clear as mud right?

What’s up with the accepted name bouncing back and forth between S. pictus and S. spraguei?
