Observation 5226: Hygrocybe acutoconica (Clem.) Singer

When: 2007-11-25

Collection location: Howarth Park, Santa Rosa, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Debbie Drechsler (debdrex)

No specimen available

Part of a good sized troop fruiting in oak, manzanita, bay. Only noticed because one had been ripped out and trampled. When I began moving leaves I found them everywhere! No longer viscid. Stipes were light orange at apex then yellow and white at the base. No blackening in evidence, gills pale yellow.
