I might have even popped these out and looked at their gills! Who knows how I made that ID now?

But there were so many damned mushrooms out there, this was just one of hundreds. I didn’t get offa my knees for two weeks, crawling around in the bush and moss and vaccinums, dodging the megafauna.

Lots of speculation here from a cap shot. Just for fun, here’s a photo by Walt Sturgeon of a Trich vaccinum from Cananda that (gasp!) looks just like this, down to the tatters on the cap edge!


But hard to know for sure, i guess, which is why I just voted could be, at the very start.

Squabble on, brothers. Cap only IDs hold little veracity.
