Purpurascentes indeed, but probably closer to C. purpurascens.

This one is in the general vicinity, but I suspect it is closer to Cortinarius purpurascens.

None of the 7-8 Western American collections that we have sequenced in this group come close to C. porphyropus. The one that does come close to C. poprhyropus is C. mutabilis.
