Observation 5262: Melanoleuca melaleuca (Pers.) Murrill

When: 2007-11-23

Collection location: Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing near trailside debris, and with whitish, medium sized, elliptical, amyloid spores, these seem to match the descriptions of Melanoleuca melaleuca in several sources. With my microscope the spores look only slightly irregular which I’m assuming could mean “minutely warted”.
