Observation 52636: Parasola Redhead et al.

When: 2010-09-12

Collection location: Strouds Run State Park, Athens, Ohio, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dan Molter (shroomydan)

No specimen available

These tiny fragile mushrooms were growing from the mossy bank of a little stream in deep shade. I had the big one figured for Marasmius, but then I saw the button and knew it had to be one of the little coprinus types. Black spores are visible on the gills.

Now viewing photographs better, it seems that in the first photo is seen in the pileus some granulation that does not correspond with the hood genre. We may have to consider a kind of Coprinellus sp.

Parasola sp.

Es una especie del genero Parasola. Necesitamos ver las estructuras microscopicas para poder determinar la especie.

Never heard of it.

This looks like a Parasola to me.

Have you considered Marasmiellus plicatilus?
