Observation 52955: Inonotus dryadeus (Pers.) Murrill

When: 2010-09-11

Collection location: Chorleywood House Estate, Hertfordshire, England [Click for map]

Who: Hunx (Mycohunx)

No specimen available

Notes:
Found at base of oak tree, this bracket fungus is quite wide, about 30-40 cm. I have seen one like this before, near the base of an oak tree, and was almost double the width. The ‘dots’ around the edge are coloured liquid, orangey brown in colour. Please help with identification.
