Observation 535: Agaricus xanthodermus Genev.

When: 1992-12-15

Collection location: Menlo Park, California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Nathan Wilson (nathan)

No specimen available

Notes:
Found on a lawn near downtown Palo Alto. Identified by sight, smell and obviously the staining reaction. The characteristic bright yellow, followed by brown staining reaction was set up by scratch a few of the fruiting bodies, leaving for a while and then coming back and scratching them again to get the bright yellow.
