Observation 5509: Chroogomphus (Singer) O.K. Mill.

Seen at the Dec 2007 LAMS meeting. No scope work so it could also be C. ochraceus.

Recognized by sight: Can look macroscopically identical to C. vinicolor and C. rutilus (which doesn’t appear to occur in the US) and there are no microscopy images or notes.

Recognized by sight: Red-brown to orange to ocher color, growing with pine, decurrent gills. Microscopy needed to assign to species.
