When: 2010-10-08

Collection location: El Dorado Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

These were growing near Lodgepole pine or Red fir at about 7000 ft.
They seem to fit at least Kris Shanks’ description of the California version of this species.
3-5-13; Looking at my original spore photos and data, it was apparent they were less than ideal. Rechecked the spores from saved spore print using KOH and Congo Red..
Spores ~ 5.1-7.5(7.9) X 3.8-5.1(5.9) microns.
Q(ave.) = 1.41.
These fit T. saponaceum pretty closely.
