Don’t look Favolus to me …

and I proposed Polyporus. These two are young specimens (cap diameter about 2.5 cm) of a species with large porus. The strange thing is that the stem of (at least one of) them is rather large and has pores.

my only hope is that this isn’t also Favolus tenuiculus like every other wood-inhabiting, fleshy, eccentric, white polypore with radially elongated pores is said to be. a massive lumping conspiracy has put many a mushroom matching that description under this one name, continental and morphological differences be damned.
