They could be. Cyanofriscosa tends to have a slightly ligher cap color, does not often get wavy, has thicker stems, etc. Pics of older specimens would help.

Could these be “cyanofriscosa” instead of cyanescens?

I notice in the same patch that I have gathered cyans there are some caps that never seem to get wavy, they do however stain blue/green but not as much as the wavy caps. They are also generally smaller in size when they are fully opened up. An inch (+/- 1/4 inch).

Colour is generally bright caramel but they seem to have a decidedly different stature from the wavy capped cyans.
