Observation 57997: Prunulus purus (Pers.) Murrill

When: 2010-10-16

Collection location: Quilcene, Washington, USA [Click for map]

Who: Adam Singer (adam)

No specimen available

Found these in a lovely pine forest so I thought it might be Gymnopus acervatus but these were in a group but not in tight clusters, these stipes seemed more red than purplish, and the caps do not seem particularly narrow compared to the length of the stipe as Ammirati/Trudell indicate would be the case for G. acervatus. Sorry for the photo quality, I took a few with natural light but they did not turn out as it was quite dark in the forest.
