Recognized by sight: On grass. Striate margin, yellowish brown, slight umbo, expanding to plane, viscid, with a separable pellicle. Stipe subbulbous with an arachnoid veil.
Used references: The Genus Psilocybe pages 345 and 346.
Based on microscopic features: Spores 10 – 12 × 6 – 7. Cheilocystidia lageniform with a long thin neck.
