Cool deal man.
Next time you find some like that, break the stem and should exude a red latex.
Also take a photo of the gills.

No, Matt, I didn’t really take the time to fully examine them. My bad. When I found them last year, all I was interested in was photographing them. Now I’ve discovered MO, I’m uploading all my pictures with my best guess at i.d., and letting the community take it from there, hoping to learn a few things. I will take better notes in future finds. Thanks!

These look exactly like the Mycena haematopus I found a week or so back. Did you happen to break any of the stems?
