This mushroom was found on Mycoblitz V, and photographed by Hugh Smith at my request.

This bright yellow form of the franchetii has attained an almost mythic status among some taxonomists. Here it is in the flesh.

Although the dark brown form is more common, pure yellow caps also occur, as well as frequent combinations of the two colors.
