They kind of look like that, having little stipes on which they’re sitting. I have images of different Hemitrichia in later stages, where they obviously have egg-like structures with stuff inside, and when ripe with fluffy tips. I don’t know how Hemitrichia would look at the earliest stage – maybe that’s it.
