Boletus amygdalinus would be my guess

for both. Pretty common under live oaks and whole mushroom should stain dark blue with repeated handling and bruising.

That looks a lot like what I found yesterday growing in Templeton, San Luis Obispo County (Salinas Valley, south of Paso Robles), under pine and oak landscape trees. Check Observation 60996 for comparison. ID anyone?
