Found bug-eaten and soft in my yard. The rooting bulb was deep into the ground and came up broken due its soft stature. Margin was appendiculate.

Growing beneath pine.

These appear to have a bit of slimy coating.

I am not very familiar with mushrooms from the Limacella genus. But “slime” is something that points in this direction. Is the stipe slimy? If you check out the genus on the Amanitaceae website, you will find subdivision based upon presence of slime on the stipe.

Possibly Limacella? (I’ve never really checked into this genus, so I don’t know much about it)
What did it smell like?

I thought Amanita when I first saw it as well, but I don’t know bro…

Any suggestions? I am not even positive it is Amanita, I just couldn’t imagine what else it could be?

It almost looked like Stropharia, but the gill color is way off. The tap root was long and deep, but soft and slippery, and relatively fragile.
