Hollow “tube” lichen with the tips of the tubes burst open with granular soredia inside. Only other thing somewhat like this is Physcia adscendens but it is mostly flat, only being inflated at the very tips, forming hood-like sorediate flaps. It also has pale rhizines all over the place; Hypogymnia never has any rhizines at all.
