Thanks CC and mushroomexplorer.

I called these mushrooms Panaeolus back when I first found them but was told by Alan and a few others that they were Psathyrella. The cold weather was the thing that really confused me.

Might be easier to narrow it down to species now that I’m looking in the correct genus.

Looks like a Panaeolus to me. Occasionally they grow on wood, and the spores look right for it.

I doubt this could be a Panaeolus, due to the bark mulch habitat and cold weather fruiting.
