I don’t know for sure; there is a group of these old trees, dead or half-dead, that don’t look like cottonwood, which is predominant in the area. Perhaps willows, which I would have recognized if it had leaves on it.

Looking at my postings from Kelley Point, I’m seeing in Observation 130053 the same thing that I called Phellinus igniarius and wrote “on dead cottonwood”.

I could’ve done a better job with these, obviously. But I don’t live there anymore to go back and check.
