You’re very welcome. Thank you for being interested in my material, always being so patient with me (and my sometimes lazy collection style), and teaching me so much! I have kept all your emails as they are such an awesome collection of valuable information for me.
We got good sequences for two loci (genes) from the material: the “proposed fungal barcode” gene (nrITS) and the nrLSU gene. I had already indicated that this material was the true muscaria from Europe and Asia based on morphology; the gene sequences unambiguously support the same conclusion.
Thanks again for all the great material you send our way.
I’ve been under the weather and asked Cristina to check the microscopy on the specimen representing this observation. Thank you very much for sending it to me. We’ll report the results of our observations shortly.
