I have also seen this fungus. I have only seen it on Calamus, this observation seems to be on Calamus australis (dead wait-a-while / rattan vine stems); also on C. moti. I have given it the name Cymatocalamus for my own use in local identification. Southern Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland, Australia. It is very different from C. elegans which is found here … bracket like (some upward cupping only), brown upper with usually large white edge and threaded white lower. Observation 354757
