The first micro-shot is of the gill edge at 400x in Meltzer’s. The edge is thick with cheilocystidia, which are fusiod-ventricose with blunt ends. There were also pleurocystidia obs. The spores are dextrinoid, on 4-spored basidia.
The second micro-shot is of spores on the stipe apex at 1000x in KOH. The spores are roughened, ellipsoid, and the bottom spore there you can see a clear plage. The apr. size is 10 × 6 um.
Pretty clearly Galerina autumnalis. These were large, about 8 cm in diameter. About once a year someone brings in some large ones, I’ve seen them up to 12 cm in diameter. They seem to be growing on D. fir. Just wanted to get down the micro-details of a large one, and they are not significantly different from the smaller Galerina autumnalis, just sometimes they get large.
