Observation 65565: Boletaceae Chevall.

Bolette found as a single specimen at ground level amongst forest litter. 70mm in height and cap about 85mm.

Thanks fellows for the kind comments. This was a very fortunate find. It was the same colour as the ground cover. The stem did have that olive tinge to it . But you know me (no real proof supplied.) I really do not have anyone in Australia that is contactable or for that matter interested in someone elses finds. I have learnt to live with it. I have in the past not had a great deal of success with dried specimens results being returned to me. (except for Roy). Even the Truffel specimen that I had ID’d by “The Truffel Lady” Melbourne Botanical GArdens Guru did not get me a DNA (or Spore) result). I even went back to the spot and sent a second specimen. I really need one of you Guys to move to my part of the world.

like it is a Boletus, based on color of the hymenophore (it would probably throw an olive colored print is my bet), but I’ve not seen this before (not anywhere). Nice find Ian!
