I am not sure of substrate…

It was collected by another PSMS member, I viewed it on the collection table. Id’d by Brian Luther, Danny Miller, and Adrian the little genius.

can give a hint sometimes. S. coccinea has a broad range of hosts, and from what I have read, it is the species you are expected to find in PNW.

But, in case you have grey alder there, you may consider Sarcoscypha austriaca as well.
