Observation 66461: Strobilomyces Berk.

Notes:
This unusually coloured fungi was growing out from the base of a living tree. The stem was an unusual colour and about 7cm. The cap was about 3cm.

Martin, Thanks for the kind remark. I only wish I had the expertise and knowledge to do a more informed presentation. I do not have a microscope to ID the spore unfortunately. (maybe one day.)
