Observation 67035: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

These were common in the grassland area of the Eucalypt forest. Most had been rain damaged but I found two growing together that were in reasonable condition. They were just starting to show dark patches of deterioration. The caps were brown and had a curling habit. The two specimens were about 4.5cm tall and the caps were about 3cm across. The stems,(white), seemed to have some staining from the gills.(possibly spore stains.) At the base of the stems there was a light tint of blue.
