Observation 67828: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

When: 2011-05-21

Collection location: Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave W (Dave W)

No specimen available

Growing under Blue Spruce. Brown spore print was not very thick, but looks a bit rusty. The spores are pip shaped with an apical pore.

No ring or cortinate zone observed on the stipe. Each mushroom broke in half and the appearance of a ring in the one photo is the result of makeshift reconstruction. I also considered Hebeloma. Examined a gill under the scope, but found no cystidia.
