Observation 67901: “Discomycetes” Sacc.

Mass numbers of very small white, uneven shaped caps becoming yellow coloured button fungi as maturing. Very short stems and some show small white line at the edge or perimeter of the growth. Growing on timber. Size less than 1mm

Did you open the highest resolution image? It is sharp and well defined.

a good look at this stem you speak of would be best.

edit: wasn’t able to see the full res photo before. different browser helped. looks discomycetous, especially the young ones with what looks like Lachnellula/Dasyscyphus-like hairs around the apothecial margin.
