At first I thought that these were fungi (perhaps immature “fairy icicles”), but they turned to liquid between collection and arriving back at home…
back to the plasmodium state? if at first you don’t succeed…

Myxomycota name of specimen

Myxomycete I believe is the name of the family, and Myxomycota is the name for a specimen from that family. I think that is the rule the site naming conventions follow. Or something like that… I had the same problem when I tried to name something an Ascomycete…
