I think I see patches of white hairs along the margin of the one seen on the left. Also, it looks like there’s woody debris in the growth area.

In light of having withstood the barrage of “as ifs” that had accompanied my serial Tubaria ID assault upon the LBMs of California a few years back, I now find it difficult to actually make such a proposal :-) But… here goes…
