What’s wrong with Tremellodendropsis tuberosa?

We cannot help you, we know only Tremellodendropsis tuberosa. We are sure about this identification, since it was confirmed by the late Prof. Robert Bandoni (UBC, Vancouver, BC) even with the help of EM. The DNA sequence was different that the one available in the GenBank. The posted GenBank specimen is obviously something else, misidentified as “Tremellodendropsis tuberosa”.

According to Trudell & Ammirati (p. 252) [Tremellodendropsis tuberosa] “is fairly commong along the Pacific Coast, but not well known, probably because it gets overlooked.” O&AC
