Observation 69044: Phylloporus arenicola A.H. Sm. & Trappe

When: 2011-06-10

Collection location: Bolinas Ridge, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

Spores were olive brown and ~ 9.0-11.1 X 4.6-5.9 microns.
Growing near Doug fir.
Also, there is a spot of blue on the gills of the larger specimen in the second photo.
6-17-2012. I’m downgrading my initial ID to allow for Phylloporus arenicola. With Christian’s remarks and the fact that these don’t really have decurrent gills leads one to believe that they are P. arenicola.
