Observation 69084: Cantharocybe gruberi (A.H. Sm.) H.E. Bigelow & A.H. Sm.

Specimen was collected north of Trout Lake Wa, just inside the GPNF boundry and near the “Big Tree” (FS road 8020)(-3k feet). The habitat was mostly Grand Fir with some Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine.

Used MatchMaker program to help find ID. Used yellow color and decurrent gills to narrow the possibilities. Picture looked right and spores and cystidia checked out.

Specimen was dried and sent to Dr. Ammirati at University of Washington (WTU) by Jan Lindgren
