Notes:
Growing single to in clusters of 2 or 3, near a group of Pinus virginiana in mixed woods.
Flesh of cap and stipe bruise blue then fade to grayish
Cap:
3.8-4.5cm broad
Tubes:
yellow, bruising blue fading to a gray-ish color.
Stipe:
6.7-7.7cm long, 2.2-2.5cm wide (at widest part)
Bug holes stain a reddish color….
These specimens were too young to produce a spore print.
