Collection location: Millersylvania State Park, Thurston Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]
The last time I saw M. subsimmilis flourishing like this was last March here at Millersylvania State Park. What crazy weather patterns we’ve been having this summer! Other species found here today- Russula sp. – Hypomyces- C. fruticulosa- M. uniflora.
The M. subsimmilis is growing on Alnus rubra(red Alder) trees in the lowland swamp area of the park, near beaver dams.
Temp: low 60’s raining.
