A young polypore, rather soft, growing where a branch was cut off a Douglas fir. Perhaps someone will recognize it at this stage.

I read the description of Ph. schweinitzii and looked at some pictures of young speciments of it on MO, and I believe your ID is correct. Fine hairs, brown bruising where touched, soft and zoned flesh,… I’ve seen this fungus several times last year, but never at this stage.
