Recognized by sight: William,the color is a little weird, but it’s probably last year’s overwinterd fruiting body. I don’t think it’s a Phellinus. now that i look more closely at the last picture I can clearly see the teeth. this is definitely Hydnochaete. However, I’m not sure the others are exactly the same thing. I screwed up the earlier naming. It’s definitely Hydnochaete.
