Recognized by sight: Well it appears to be attached to the tree, probably a conifer. That makes it likely to be a polypore, probably young. the only orange one that comes to mind is Pycnoporellus. That’s my best guess for the day.

Recognized by sight: A paler marginal layer at the front with drops, the rest of the cap has the typical colour.
