Observation 7454: Amanita vernicoccora Bojantchev & R.M. Davis

When: 2008-05-02

Collection location: Oak Bottom Campground, Siskiyou Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: John Harlan (harlanx6)

No specimen available

This specimen had been attacked by a number of creatures including this gorgeous snail. When I set the mushroom and snail on the table, the snail immediately resumed the attack. When I returned a short time later the snail had disappeared, probably down the gullet of a Steller Jay.
