and when I came to discover where R. decolorans gets its name, the application of that taxon to this mushroom became suspect, hence my name proposal beside Larry’s. Taste and smell are distant memories, which in and of itself is at least some indication that neither were very pronounced. The only aromatic Russula on the table were the xerampelinoid finds.
